Clearly the über-talented Ms Devine has trouble discerning between an interview, a whinge-fest and a puff piece. In her opening paragraph, Devine likens the persecution of Michelle Leslie to Kate Moss's cocaine/rehab/Pete Doherty fiasco. How exactly does one draw such a comparison?
One is an internationally successful model, having held contracts with almost every major fashion house and label, who happened to be caught on camera allegedly using cocaine.
The other, a mediocre "model" who was once featured in an AntzPantz underwear campaign a few years back, who was caught with drugs in her purse, in a country known for it's strict no-tolerance drug laws, who then changed her sob-story several times... and topped off her performance by offending the Muslim communities in both Australia and Indonesia by donning traditional Muslim religious wear and feigning an interest in Islam.
I wonder why we forgave one and not the other?
In closing, Ms Devine leaves us with this:
"Leslie can be prickly and defensive... ...but surely she has done her penance by now."
Well, no. Some things the general public just won't forgive.
Being an insufferable whining bitch is one of them (see also: Jana Pittman, Nikki Webster)
Being a vacuous cow is another (see also: Rebecca Hewitt)
Prostituting someone else's faith to avoid a drug conviction is pretty much guaranteed to keep you out of public favour for a good long while yet.
How she is a model is beyond me, she's not attractive at all....least not to me, but anyway, what i find most repugnant, is this druggie going back to Indonesia, to take photos with orphans. Like WTFness??? How dare she! She's just trying to clean up her image at the expense of innocent children, who wouldn't have a clue who she is, or how they are being used. Sickening.
